Do you like to fish? Have you ever thought about learning to tie your own flies? Join Hawkeye Fly Tyer - Mike Jacobs as he leads FLY Tying Classes in March at the Central Park Nature Center. Learn to tie 3 new flies from 5-7 PM Thursday evening in March (March 7, 14, 21, and 28). This class is a great introduction to fly tying and will include expert advise and instruction to participants attending. A fly tying loaner vise will be provided for each registered participant. All materials for tying flies each evening will be included. Total cost for materials - only $20. (Cash or check payable to Mike Jacobs at the first class.) Space is limited! At dawn and dusk, woodcocks perform their amazing sky dance! Find out what makes these birds so unique. Wander the trails of Whitewater Canyon with us as we try to catch a glimpse and listen for these illusive performers.
OWLS - Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls events are specifically geared toward adults. These programs are educational, fun, and a great way to meet others interested in conservation and the outdoors. OWLS programming is a partnership between Dubuque, Jackson, and Jones County Conservation departments. Registration for events are taken through any of ther 3 counties Naturalist Staff.
