All county facilities will be closed to the public beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice. Staff will be on duty to provide assistance by telephone and email. Limited in-person appointments may continue to be available through all county departments, except the Treasurer's Office. Click here for the official press release.

Iowa Department of Public Health News Release: Certificate Exchange
Newborn birth certificates issued from May 1993 to October 2009 after the birth of a child in Iowa as a wallet sized card may be exchanged for a standard sized certificate. Please read the News Release for more information or call the Jones County Recorder at 319-462-2477, as we may be able to facilitate the exchange locally in our office.

Veterans Designation on Drivers' License or NonOperator ID
Iowa veterans can now add a Veteran designation to their drivers license or nonoperator identification cards. PLEASE NOTE, this designation can only be added when the license or identification card is being renewed, or, if you are being issued for the first time. (For example, if you are moving in from out of state.) A link to the required form can be found by clicking here. Your County's Veterans Affairs office will need to complete part of that form before the designation can be added to your drivers license or identification card. Jones County is located in east central Iowa. The county seat is Anamosa. Jones County is within a 30-40 minute drive to the Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Iowa City, Davenport, Waterloo, and Clinton areas. Major highways include U.S. 151 and 64 along with Highways 38, 136, and 1
