The Jones County Board of Supervisors will accept bids for rent of farm land as follows (bidders may bid on option 1, option 2, or both - however, bids will not be tied together to determine the high bid):

Option 1: 192 acres, more or less, of county owned farm land (county farm) in section 36 of Wayne Township. Outbuildings are not included in this lease offering.  The lease for the county farm contains pasturing and weed control provisions.  One year cash lease beginning March 1, 2020.  100% of the lease payment is due on March 1, 2020.  

Option 2: 48 acres, more or less, of farm land owned by the Jones County Solid Waste Commission adjacent to the southeast corner of the county farm.   Two-year cash lease beginning March 1, 2020. 100% of the annual lease payments will be due March 1 of each year. 

   Sealed bids are due in the Jones County Auditor’s Office at the Courthouse in Anamosa IA no later than 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Written bids shall be submitted for an annual lump sum amount per option, with bidder to indicate which option/s they are bidding on. Jones County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Maps of both properties, pasturing and weed control provisions for the county farm, and an optional bid form may be obtained from the Auditor’s Office, or from the home page at
