Central Park weekly fishing report for May 15, 2020:

Water temperatures for ponds in Jones County are around 59 1/2 - 60 degrees but will vary depending on your location and pond.  (Central Park Lake is 62 degrees today (May 18).) Shallow water areas will be warmer with deeper areas cooler.  Bluegills are being caught in 3-5 feet of water as well as in some shallow areas where they are feeding on insect hatches.  Use small artificial fly in shallow areas where they are actively feeding or use a hook and sinker with a waxworm or a small piece of worm under a bobber to attract bites.

Iowa residents can try fishing without buying a license on June 5, 6 and 7 as part of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) free fishing weekend. All other regulations remain in place. Learn More Here!
